To be successful in this role you will have:

• Demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation including Health and Hospitals Network Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act, and Equal Employment Opportunity Legislation and other relevant legislation
• Demonstrated current knowledge and experience in the Operating Theatre environment in the role of Scrub/Scout and/or Anaesthetic Nurse is desirable or a willingness to participate in training to obtain the necessary skills.
• High level of communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with hospital and community health providers within the Torres Cape Hospital and Health Service and beyond.

Requirements for the role:

• Postgraduate in Nursing or working towards is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current ACORN standards, and role of the Scrub/Scout and Anaesthetic Nurse is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in emergency obstetrics and gynaecology procedures within the operating theatre environment as the role of Scrub/Scout and / or Anaesthetic Nurse is highly desirable.
