We are looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team on Sizewell B Nuclear Station.


You will be the first point of responsibility to ensure operational sites, offices and yards or depots are compliant with AIMS procedures and legal requirements.

In order to qualify for this role you must have CTC clearance or be willing to undergo the CTC clearance process.


Key Objectives:

To ensure operational sites, offices and yard or depots are compliant with AIMS procedures and legal requirements

Support, advise & monitor HSEQ improvement plans & strategy’s set by operational management & national objectives

To provide functional support to the Site Management and operational teams advising on identified standards on sites or incident management

Routinely visit allocated sites and conduct audits & inspections

Be key communication point between site operations, maintaining autonomy to give impartial advice and report unbiased facts to the HSEQ Manager and Site Management teams


Main duties & responsibilities:

To collaborate with HSEQ and Operations Teams, assessing and responding to site requirements and issues ensuring they are dealt with as appropriate

To collate information and report as required by HSEQ Manager statistics essential for HSEQ reports

To engage with Altrad customers ensuring sites are familiar with AIMS procedures and client’s requirements alike

To report any conflict between Altrad and client procedures or operational HSEQ requirements.

Support & review risk assessments and method statements ensuring they are established & effective

Identify training requirements on site and alleviate by delivery of various Altrad training packages where required

At least 2 recorded site inspections per week across various locations

Complete audit schedule target

Record all actions from audits, inspections and safety tours

Collate all actions on a monthly basis and elevate accordingly if not closed out

Advise and assist in accident investigation alongside the delegated person as required

Review accident / incident report content prior to Operational Managers sign off

Attend critical client safety meetings


Qualifications and Experience:

Ideally 3-5 years’ experience of HSEQ functions in multi-site role

Experience of industrial sectors trades

Minimum NEBOSH Certificate, (Ideally NVQ OHS Level 5 or equivalent but not essential)

IOSH member or equivalent

Ideally a background of a multi service provider in the nuclear industry or similar sector.

The role requires you to work a standard 38 hour week, Monday to Friday, overtime will be required once the outage starts.
