About the role

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is currently seeking a motivated Casual Physiotherapist to join our Allied Health team. We are looking for an individual who is looking for weekend work, with the ability to pick up occasional weekday shifts an option but not required.

Salary range: $40.65-$54.43 (HP3) per hour plus superannuation plus casual loading and excellent weekend penalty rates. Non For Profit salary packaging up to $15,900!

What you'll be doing. 

Typical tasks of the role include: 

  • Undertake routine clinical practice within established clinical protocols at Mater Townsville Physiotherapy Department
  • Mater Private Hospital Townsville is set across two campuses with weekend inpatient physiotherapy caseload servicing orthopaedics, surgical, ICU, medical, cardiac and occasionally Mater women’s unit. 
  • Provide delegation, supervision, training and support to less experienced health practitioners, allied health assistants, support staff and volunteers 
  • Identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes 
  • Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies 
  • Participate in continuing professional development activities to further develop clinical practice and expertise 

About you 

You will be a AHPRA registered Physiotherapist as recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. You will also meet the below criteria: 

  • Broad experience working in an acute hospital setting and across rehabilitation services ideal but not required, training will be provided.
  • Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number 
  • A demonstrated ability to provide exceptional Physiotherapy clinical services commensurate with level, and to manage a varying caseload day to day, including provision of an appropriate clinical handover as required 
  • Demonstrated attributes of solutions focus, flexibility and resilience 
  • Demonstrated clinical practice and application of clinical judgement in the provision of high quality, evidence based, patient centred care 
  • Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with professional and multi-disciplinary teams, patients and carers to achieve optimal outcomes
