The role

Take the next step in your career, using your knowledge of human factors and ergonomics, you will be leading a specialist team of inspectors, undertaking complex investigations and contributing to the health and safety of workers in Western Australia.

You will be connected to peers on a state and national level, participating in forums and committees on human factors and ergonomics. You will identify and respond to emerging issues and trends, providing advice and participating in development of legislation, policy, systems and projects to reduce risk and promote healthy workplaces.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.

Please note that as this is a specified calling position you must hold a Bachelor of Science degree or higher qualification relevant to human factors and ergonomics in the workplace.
