Salary:   $112,917 - $141,084 (Plus 11.5% Super)

Canberra Health Services (CHS) is focussed on the delivery of high quality, effective, person-centred care. To be eligible for this position you must be PGY 4 + by February 2025, prior to the commencement of the role.

The Medical Imaging Department of CHS operates 24 hours, seven days a week, offering a wide range of imaging modalities. The service provides state of the art radiology, MRI, PET, interventional radiology, ultrasound and nuclear medicine services for patients in Canberra and the South East Region of NSW. We are committed to providing our patients with cost-effective, easily accessible subspecialty expertise along with a strong commitment to research and training in advancing the use of imaging for the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Applications should be from suitably qualified medical graduates eligible for General registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

Duties:
  • Provide competent and efficient clinical Medical Imaging (MI) management of patients of CHS under the supervision and direction of Consultant Specialist Radiologist’s. Clinical MI management includes acute admissions, in-patient reporting, outpatient reporting, inter-disciplinary consults and interventional procedures.
  • Maintain a co-operative relationship with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Participate in the supervision, training and professional development of junior medical staff as required.
  • Work within and support a multidisciplinary team approach.
  • Assist in progression of training in the specialty including participation in the RANZCR teaching program and activities, timely completion of assessments and involvement in research.
  • Currency in Basic Life Support Course to be attained within three months of commencement with annual refreshers.
  • Contribute to clinical audit and participate in changes that improve quality and safety of patient care.

8. Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.

5. Proficient computer literacy skills, as you will be r esponsible for completing clinical documentation in the DHR and using other CHS IT systems.

· Eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

· Be an accredited radiology registrar with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR)

· Have passed the RANZCR part 1 examinations.

Please note prior to commencement successful candidates will be required to:

  • Obtain a Compliance Certificate from OMU (Occupational Medicine Unit) relating to assessment, screening & vaccination processes against specified infectious diseases.
