As an advanced clinical practitioner within Statewide Forensic Medical Service, the Clinical Nurse Consultant, Forensic (Coronial) Nurse, reports operationally to the Director Statewide Forensic Medical Service (SFMS) and State Forensic Pathologist and undertakes work as directed by the Director SFMS and State Forensic Pathologist (SFP), Approved Pathologists, and Magistrates in The Magistrates Court Coronial Division (Coroners).
The role works within best practice framework and in accordance with national policies, guidelines, and requirements as per judicial and health systems.
Provide specialist advice and direction, formal case reviews and any other documentation as requested by the SFP and Coroner on deaths requiring investigation under the Tasmanian Coroners Act 1995 within the scope of nursing practice. Where reported deaths to the Coroner are of apparent natural causes, facilitate the issue of the Medical Certificates of the Cause of Death (MCCD) as directed by the SFP, SFMS and Coroners.

Permanent full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight commencing asap.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023
