SpaMedica offers a basic salary between £51,459 - £58,811, work-life balance shifts, up to 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) and paid GOC fee’s. Plus, our individual and company performance-related bonuses in June and January could earn you up to a combined 10% extra!

This role will be based at the Chester hospital, however travel to other sites may be required for cover and training, we will pay all travel expenses occurred during travel off site.


What our Optometrists do:

  • Conduct pre- and post-operative assessment on patients attending after referral for cataract surgery.
  • Conduct pre-op assessment on those patients referred for Laser YAG capsulotomy.
  • Obtaining informed consent in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Take part in the hospital “on call” and weekend rota.
  • Ensuring your clinical area is prepared; ensuring all equipment is checked and ready for use; restoring your clinical area to order at the end of a clinic.
  • Undertake basic life support (BLS) training.
  • Work alongside the diagnostic team in the day to day running of clinics.
