An exciting opportunity has become available to support the leadership of a busy ophthalmology outpatient department. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who demonstrates great professionalism, has existing leadership skills that they would like to further develop and who wants to be part of a growing department and team.
Our service supports clinics in both SEU and Lymington and the candidate would be based in Southampton eye OPD, and would be required on occasion to support leadership and services in our Lymington base.
This is a full time position which supports a good work life balance with clinics currently running Monday-Saturday.
Although this is an Ophthalmology OPD position, knowledge and experience in ophthalmology is not essential, training can be given. Strong leadership skills would be positive.

Responsible for assisting the senior sister in the day to day management of the eye OPD, ensuring high standards of care are maintained and available resources are utilised effectively. The successful candidate would need to be a forward thinker and adaptable to an ever changing environment. They would need to be motivated and to be able to motivate others. They will need to demonstrate clinical expertise, act as a positive role model. As a band 6, they would need to facilitate a good learning environment for staff and learners.
Staff are rostered over 4 days across a 6 day week, Monday-Saturday.

Getting to Work
Application can be made for parking on site at UHS or through one of the park and ride schemes. This will be based on specific criteria to determine eligibility for site parking as this can be very limited. UHS encourages staff to utilise other green methods of getting to work such as cycling or walking where possible. UHS is well connected through bus services to the city centre and other areas.
