Your opportunity

The Director of Nursing (DON), Thargomindah Western Qld, is located 4 hours from Charleville and 2 hours from Cunnamulla. This position is a unique job share arrangement with another Director of Nursing which enables both rotation three weeks on site and three weeks off site.

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the operational management, coordination of a rural and/or remote facility within the health service. The DON is responsible for the management of staff including nurses, operational, administrative, visiting health professionals and other support services.

Thargomindah is a designated Remote Area Nursing Incentive Package (RANIP) site in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015. This attracts additional entitlements which may include:

  • An annual isolation bonus paid annually!
  • Return airfares to the nearest provincial city in conjunction with leave!
  • Additional annual leave per annum!
  • Additional professional development leave, travel and associated costs per annum!
  • Appointment and transfer expenses!
