The role:
The Application Officer will provide support for the DHS ICT Change Management processes in line with ITIL best practice standards and delivered on schedule and continually update and maintain knowledge of specific applications and business technical requirements in the support of enterprise applications.
In addition to this, you will be responsible for:
- Maintain enterprise applications in accordance with Queensland Health policies, standards and practices.
- Work autonomously to provide end to end support of enterprise applications to ensure defined service levels are met.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and test the impacts of changes to any of the components supporting enterprise applications to maintain defined service levels.
- Assist in the development and review of Business and Operational Plans that link with Departmental and branch outcomes.
- Assist in the ongoing development, maintenance and deployment of application specific guides, work instructions and technical documents and project documentation.
- All staff are responsible for identifying, managing and reporting risks relating to their work.
Are you right for this role?
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Demonstrated ability in developing and managing ITIL Service Management processes, primarily incident/problem/test/change and configuration management. (SFIA: USUP Level 3, PBMG Level 4, CHMG Level 3, CFMG Level 3, TEST Level 2)
- Experience in managing the day-to-day system administration of enterprise applications. (SFIA: ASUP Level 4)
- Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions. (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing)
- Understanding or proven ability to quickly learn impacts of other technologies or environments such as databases, servers and networking.
- Support delivery of large scale, complex/high risk projects (SFIA Code: PRMG 6)
- Knowledge and application of project management methodologies (Prince 2) (SFIA Code: METL 5)
