About your opportunity

Permanent part-time / 60.8 hours per fortnight commencing from 1st July 2024

For the purposes of being a Nurse Practitioner Candidate (NPC) the candidate will engage in practice that is extended in scope beyond that of a Registered Nurse. The NPC is required to collaborate with their clinical mentor and Senior Medical Staff for their patient treatment and practice. This practice will include but may not be limited to:

    • providing direct patient care actioning patient assessment for advanced decision making.
    • applying diagnostic reasoning to formulate treatment plans, actioning therapeutic interventions, and applying the quality use of medicines.
    • working in collaboration with inpatient and outpatient departments as part of a Multi-disciplinary team.

The candidate role is defined as that of the Nurse Practitioner (NP) role but with the limitations of not being licensed as an Nurse Practitioner.

What we are looking for?:

  • ability to provide expert nursing leadership and coordination within a palliative care environment.
  • Ability to integrate the strategic direction and priorities for quality improvement into the clinical service, establishing a quality framework.
  • Demonstrated advanced leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution and change management skills to ensure customer focused service provision amongst the multidisciplinary team. 
  • Demonstrated high level of communication skills required for problem solving and decision making.
  • Understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment (adult learning principles) with demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills.

Generous pro rata remuneration package (based on full-time equivalent value) up to $131,756 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range of $66.85 to $72.58 p.h. (Nurse Grade 7)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
  • Highly Desirable: Demonstrated experience of working in the palliative care setting.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
