Overview

The Emergency Department of Southern Fleurieu Health Service is facing the exciting prospect of a brand new department and expansion of nursing resources. An exciting opportunity for a progressive nurse/s to join the senior ED Nursing Team to help guide this journey of growth.

In this pivotal management position, you will provide support to the Nurse Unit Manager in the leadership of nurses within the Emergency Department at the Southern Fleurieu Health Service. Promoting continuity and consistency of care in collaboration with other Nurse Unit Managers, you will contribute to the implementation of practice changes and undertake service management responsibilities. These will include performance management processes, recruitment, staffing, leave management, rostering, work allocation and attendance management; financial and supplies planning and monitoring. Utilising your nursing skills and knowledge, you will support and work collaboratively with less experienced members of the nursing team.

About you

  • You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
  • At least 3 years post registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife
  • With prior experience in management and leadership roles, you will be capable of giving supervision to student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
  • Use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team and resolve local or immediate nursing care problems.
  • Applicants with experience in working in Emergency Department setting or relevant critical care setting will be highly regarded
