Children's Health Queensland provides services from key locations in the Brisbane metropolitan area and works with the 15 other hospital and health services as well as NGOs and charity partners in Queensland to deliver an integrated network of healthcare services and support across the state.

Your Opportunity:

The position of Paediatric Registrar (in the role of Paediatric Advanced Trainee Fellow) will:

  • Work collaboratively as part of the leadership team that includes the Principal Medical Education Officer and the Head University of Queensland Children's Health Queensland Clinical Unit, in the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of targeted medical educational and training programs across Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service. 
  • Assist the Chief Medical Registrar in the organisation of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians' annual clinical examination.
  • Take a leading role in the teaching, mentoring, and advocacy of Vocational Medical Officers enrolled with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians who are on a vocational pathway to attain the qualification FRACP.
  • Attend relevant Paediatric Network meetings, assist in planning Paediatric Network education including Paediatric Clinical Examination Preparation Program (PCEPP).
  • Demonstrate commitment to evidence-based practice, research and quality improvement activities, including undertaking clinical audits and clinical risk management activities.
  • Deliver medical services through participation in clinical duties at Fellow level and in accordance with the policies, practices and Values of the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
  • Assist in the professional development of Vocational Medical staff and the training of medical students.
  • Assume the duties of Chief Medical Registrar during periods of leave.
