Details of Appointment:
  • Permanent, full-time position with a day worker schedule (with on-call duties), totaling 76 hours per fortnight.

Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Specialist in Gastroenterology to join the Department of Acute Medicine across the North West region.  The role involves managing patients in General Gastroenterology, IBD, chronic liver disease, and both diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopy. Experience in capsule endoscopy would be advantageous.

We seek a candidate who thrives on challenges and sees them as opportunities to improve healthcare in today's complex health systems. The ideal applicant will be instrumental in enhancing healthcare at both patient and system levels.  The successful candidate will provide specialist diagnosis, treatment, and care for public patients. They will also offer consultative services in Gastroenterology to other disciplines and hospitals within the Department of Health.

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Registered with AHPRA with at least 12 months of recent experience in Gastroenterology
  • Enrolled in the RACP training program
  • Hold the FRACP qualification
  • IMGs eligible for the Competent Authority Pathway from the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA, or NZ
  • IMGs with an RACP interview date
  • IMGs assessed by RACP and found to be substantially comparable
