The role   
This position is located at Charters Towers for delivery of services to Hughenden and Richmond and Charters Towers for training and support.  This position is part of the Western Corridor team of health workers.  Clinical supervision will be provided for all health worker positions.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide generalist primary health services in the First Nations community by working within a delegated Model of Care.   

Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with mainstream services to facilitate culturally safe and respectful services and equitable health improvements for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The position works across the Western Corridor facilities and communities which are Richmond, Hughenden and Charters Towers.  Travel is expected and overnight shared accommodation is provided when travelling to other sites.

Remuneration package value up to $109,986 (HWF3), $79,353 (HWF2) $76,897 (HWF1) p.a.comprising:

  • Salary rates between $2786.60 - $3694.90 p.f. (HWF3), $2516.80 - $2665.80 p.f. (HWF2), $2261.00 - $2583.30 (HWF1)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • Professional Development allowance + leave

Role requirements   

  • Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community. 
  • Appointment to HWF3
    • Certificate IV Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or 
    • Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
  • Appointment to HWF2
    • Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
  • Appointment to HWF1
    • Enrolled in Certificate III in Aboriginal and /or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.  Certificate to be completed within 18 months of commencement.
