About the role

  • Undertake mechanical fitting and turning work and carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance to comply with all applicable standards including Australian Standards, Electricity Act, Workplace Health & Safety Act, Regulations and Code of Practice.
  • Assist the Trade Coordinator BEMS Mechanical in undertaking projects and maintenance work, ensure allocated work is carried out promptly and efficiently, including day to day leadership and supervision of small work groups.
  • Ensure that safe work practices and safety procedures are always adopted and that protective clothing and equipment provided is worn and used as recommended.

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in the Mechanical Fitting and Turning industry including possession of any relevant non-mandatory licencing requirements or qualifications.
  • High level communication, negotiation and consultation skills to enable effective interaction in individual and group situations.
  • High level organisational and time management skills including the ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and antidiscrimination practices and behaviours as applied in the working environment.

Role requirements

  • Possession of a Queensland trade certificate in Mechanical Fitting and Turning.
  • Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current Certificate.
  • Participate in the “ON-CALL” roster for the provision of Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services.
  • Operate in remote locations across Rural and Regional facilities and be willing to work away for periods of time to facilitate operational maintenance.

Remuneration package of up to $100,064 p.a., comprising base salary range of $74,302- $87,702 p.a. (+ applicable allowances/benefits) (HBEA9-HBEA6), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).
