About your opportunity:

Permanent full-time opportunity | Location: Charters Towers

This position will:

  • Provide expertise in managing quality and accreditation systems including Age Care Accreditation Standards, legislative requirements and the Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC).
  • Provide nursing resource, education and research accountabilities and strategic management to facilitate the delivery of high quality, best practice care to clients of Eventide Residential Aged Care Facility, Charters Towers.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: 

  • Proven ability to provide expert nursing leadership and coordination within an residential aged care environment.
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines and standards within aged care.
  • Ability to integrate the strategic direction and priorities for quality improvement into the clinical service, establishing a quality framework.
  • Demonstrated advanced leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution and change management skills to ensure customer focused service provision amongst the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated high level of communication skills required for problem solving and decision making.
  • Proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position.
  • Ability to demonstrate ongoing professional development of self and others.
  • Understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment (adult learning principles) with demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills.

  • Salary range of $5081.10 to $5516.60 p.f. (Nurse Grade 7)

Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification (Nursing), registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check:  As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or an NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
  • Travel will be a requirement of this position.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
