About us:

Biloela Hospital is a 20-bed hospital that caters for inpatients and outpatients including emergency and outpatient services; the hospital also provides general medical and surgical services. Support services to the hospital include maternity services, community services, radiology, pharmacy, immunisation, child health, drug and alcohol mental health services, occupational therapy, social work, pathology, physiotherapy, and oral health.

About the role:

The Clinical Nurse Diabetes Education applies advanced communication, problem solving, and evidence based clinical skills and knowledge of gestational diabetes, type one, and type two diabetes in the delivery of diabetes education, and clinical self-management to individuals and groups in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. The activities required of roles at this level are predominantly clinical in nature, however this role can provide support to a Nurse Grade 7 or above in management activities.

About you:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
  • ADEA credentialling or working towards would be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical evidence-based skill and knowledge and interdisciplinary care and management of gestational, type one and type two diabetes.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability through knowledge of team engagement, decision making frameworks and risk mitigation strategy applicable to the coordination of safe, effective, and efficient care.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $52,759 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.  
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
