About the role

  • Permanent part time opportunity to lead and co-ordinate the delivery of advanced occupational therapy services in the RBWH Rapid Access Mild Traumatic Brain Injury/Concussion Clinic within the Occupational Therapy Service.
  • Liaise with members of specialist teams including Emergency and Trauma Centre, Neurology and Neurosurgery to ensure best practice and high-quality patient care.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Deliver advanced occupational therapy clinical services of a complex and varied nature for persons with mild traumatic brain injury / concussion in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards with a high degree of independence.
  • Lead the development and knowledge translation of evidence based clinical practices, procedures, protocols, and education materials to improve the delivery of occupational therapy services in relation to mTBI/concussion. Provide advice on the service's strategic direction in accordance with local, state-wide, and national priorities.
  • Apply high-level communication, advocacy and interpersonal skills to consult with partners and work collaboratively with patients, carers, multidisciplinary team members and external stakeholders to meet service goals and enhance health outcomes.
  • Use expert occupational therapy clinical knowledge, skills, and critical reasoning to guide and inform service development and planning, and lead implementation of evidence-based reviews and service evaluation activities.
