The role:
The Operations Specialist role will provide high level technical skills in the analysis of IT system issues and the formulation, design and provision of appropriate solutions and improvements.

Further duties include:

  • Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with other staff within the branch to ensure the alignment and integration of operational services, processes and service levels across the branch.  
  • Provide effective change management, capacity planning, incident management, risk management and continuity planning utilising best practices in systems support and service delivery, preferably with the ITIL framework.
  • Ensure end to end service delivery for enterprise systems within Queensland Health.

To be successful in this role you will have the proven ability to participate in a highly skilled technical team providing high-level technical direction, standardisation and support of enterprise infrastructure in a large customer focused organisation. 

  • High level understanding and working knowledge of relevant technical domains (SFIA Code: TECH 5) :
    • Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10
    • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
    • Directory Services (Microsoft Active Directory and Novell eDirectory)
    • Active Directory Group Policy administration and configuration
    • Application packaging (MSI, application virtualisation, scripting technologies)
    • Enterprise printing solutions (Novell iPrint)
  • Demonstrated skills in the analysis of IT system issues and the formulation, design and provision of appropriate solutions and improvements.  (SFIA Code: DESN 5; ARCH 5; METL 5)
  • High-level communication skills to enable effective interaction in individual and group situations.
  • Demonstrated ability or the ability to quickly learn eHealth Queensland's ITIL Service Management processes (primarily incident / problem / change / config management).  (SFIA Code: USUP 5; PBMG 5; CHMG 5; CFMG 5).
