About your opportunity:

The medical officers of Joyce Palmer Health Service (JPHS) will work in the Palm Island Primary Care Centre on rotation and they will assist in maintaining functional connections between the Centres to ensure continuity of care for patients. 

There will be a requirement to supervise and teach junior doctors and medical students. The role includes the opportunity to meet the requirements for Advanced Specialised Training as part of ACRRM or RACGP training (for example the AST / ARST in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health). 

Remuneration package of up to $19,389 p.m. (+ other applicable allowances/benefits) comprising salary range of $4822.20 - $5591.00 p.f. (L4 - L9), recreational leave loading (17.5%), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%), attraction and retention incentive allowance, professional development assistance (leave and vocational training subsidy), and inaccessibility allowance (if applicable).

Requirements:

• Proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
• This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
• The role will participate in the On-Call roster.
• Possession of class C drivers' licence.
• Travel: from time to time this position may be required to travel to and work at other facilities located within the THHS network in order to participate in quality, training or outreach services. This may involve day and or overnight stays. Advanced notice of this travel will be communicated. The successful applicant/s will need to be able to commit to this requirement.
• Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
