About the role

Permanent full time and part time opportunity to provide clinical facilitation for undergraduate student midwives, who are undertaking clinical practicum within the RBWH, Metro North Health. Assist students to develop knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for practice within the clinical environment as a beginning level practitioner. In consultation with the Midwifery Educator and Midwifery Unit Manager (MUM), promote a culture of learning in the clinical environment.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • Practise collaboratively with the interprofessional health care team to promote the safety, security and personal integrity of individuals and groups.
  • Provide regular formative and summative feedback to students and the education provider regarding the student's performance, and prompt escalation of concerns to the NE (Clinical Placements).
  • Facilitate integration of theory with practice by supporting the development of student midwives within the clinical environment.
  • Lead and manage the provision of comprehensive care as the need arises.
