About the role

We are looking for a Coordinator to lead our timber manufacturing team at Activ in Bunbury. Weprovide a range of timber products to commercial clients while supporting people with a disability to live an independent life by providing employment opportunities.

In this role you will lead and mentor Assistant Coordinators, Supervisors, and Supported Employees, providing them with the support and guidance they need to excel. Your expertise will ensure our production activities run smoothly and efficiently, while prioritising safety and adhering to technical standards. With your strategic planning skills, you will allocate resources to meet current and future demands, while setting clear output expectations for our dedicated team of Supported Employees.

This is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday, paying$41.52 per hour (approx. $82,000 equivalent). Working for a not for profit you will also have access to salary packaging options which could increase your take home pay by an additional $9,700* a year.

Duties include:

  • Financial tasks such as invoicing, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring high standards and cost savings with the Manager's help.
  • Plan monthly schedules and daily tasks for crews, keep customers happy, manage feedback, oversee maintenance, and drive improvements while following company policies and budgets.
  • Lead and support the team to create job opportunities for people with disabilities, ensuring training, hiring, compliance, and strategic goals are met.
  • Promote a safety-first culture by providing training, ensuring proper PPE use, maintaining a tidy environment, managing incidents, and following quality assurance standards while overseeing equipment and facility maintenance.

What you need:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a production team.
  • Experience in production planning, resource allocation, and forecasting.
  • Experience working with or understanding of people with disability (desirable).
  • Technical experience in timber manufacturing processes and equipment (desirable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management software.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Current drivers licence and willingness to travel between sites as required.
