About The Role
Work for this key Government Agency as a Health and Safety Advisor!
Our Government Agency Client are seeking a passionate and dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.
You will work closely with key stakeholders to inspire and empower everyone in the organisation to take accountability for health and safety.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Health & Safety Lead in delivering strategic objectives and promoting continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
• Drive effective communication strategies to foster open and honest safety conversations.
• Coordinate and implement health and safety initiatives, projects, and programs.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain ISO45001 and ISO45003 standards.
• Implement major safety-related projects to support a positive safety culture.
• Support business units in leading and managing an effective contractor management system.
• Participate in tendering/procurement processes, contractor on boarding, and safety performance assessments.
• Identify and manage critical risks through strategic risk management planning.
• Participate in incident investigations and ensure timely communication and implementation of safety learning's.
  

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a proven track record of positive outcomes.
• Passion for health and safety and improving safety culture.
• Strong leadership experience to inspire and motivate stakeholders.
• Proficiency in data analytics and trend identification to improve safety performance.
• Knowledge of change management principles (desirable).
• Continuous improvement mindset and ability to influence change.
• Tertiary qualifications in occupational health and safety or related discipline.
• Experience in civil construction safety, plant, and process safety in large, complex organisations.
• Qualifications in auditing, ISO 45001, or incident investigation (ICAM) are advantageous.
• Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies (desirable).
• Experience in industrial operations such as gas, sewer, water, roads, electrical transmission construction, or maintenance (highly desirable).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong presentation and facilitation skills (desirable).
• Experience in writing operational safety procedures and management system documentation.
• Knowledge of safety legal obligations, codes of practice, and standards.
• Experience in conducting audits, implementing corrective actions, and completing incident investigations.
  

Candidates must have a valid Police Check or willing to obtain one.
