About us:

Rockhampton Hospital is the largest hospital in Central Queensland and the main referral hub for the region. A number of exciting initiatives are underway including the construction of a new multi-level car park. Once complete, it will provide 597 parking spaces for staff, patients, and visitors to the hospital.

Operational Services Officers – Porterage, Cleaning, Food Services, Linen Services, Waste Services, Resource Pool support clinical staff to deliver the best possible care to patients. From providing nutritious meals, to transporting patients throughout the hospital, to keeping our hospital clean, providing clean linen and collection of all waste across the campus. Operational Services Officers are integral to running an effective and safe hospital. 

About the role:

Provide non-clinical support to the Rockhampton Hospital Campus in the areas of porterage, cleaning, food services, linen, and waste management.

  • Undertake all training requirements necessary to perform duties effectively and assist with the orientation of new staff.
  • Follow duties list to ensure that all requires tasks are completed.
  • Follow all food safety program standards.
  • Follow correct procedures for chemical and consumables using only supplied products.
  • Complete cleaning duties as per duties list or as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform delivery functions, in accordance with schedules and requirements, to meet customer needs.

About you:

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision and able to work efficiently in order to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognise where improvements are required, and the process involved in implementing the changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage required timeframes to ensure that there is no disruption to patient flow within the Rockhampton Hospital.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise clients and employees of the hospital.
  • Ability to abide by relevant policies, procedures and guidelines.

What we offer:

Salary information:

  • An hourly rate between $37.30 - $39.80 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
