The role  
You will be accountable for QPHaSS public health information systems to ensure they are strategically aligned, interoperable, secure, fit-for-purpose and strengthened to enable access to data, information, and intelligence for better decision making. You will have oversight of public health information systems including people, policy, processes, tools, frameworks, standards and functions.
You will strategically lead and oversee the successful design of end-to-end integrated public health information systems necessary to achieve the successful operations for public health performance and decision making.
You will provide oversight of the development, governance and delivery of public health technology that ensures public health business needs are met sustainably and efficiently, while ensuring compliance with IT service management processes and optimising public health enterprise architecture. Additionally, your role involves managing sensitive information to maintain confidentiality and privacy standards, thereby contributing to the provision of high-quality, safe services and workplaces as per defined policies.

The successful person
To excel in this position, you should showcase proficient senior management and leadership competencies, encompassing the aptitude to instigate and strategically steer change, efficiently allocate resources, and optimise staff potential. Moreover, you should exhibit a track record of effectively cultivating influential relationships and fostering productive partnerships with diverse stakeholders and colleagues.

Furthermore, you should demonstrate a knack for innovation, creativity, and prudent decision-making within a multifaceted operational landscape. A robust grasp of digital concepts within the public health domain is essential, including the ability to comprehend and apply pertinent legislation, regulations, strategies, policies, industry standards, and best practices pertinent to the digital health sector.

The Branch provides public health information systems used across Queensland Health. PHI plays a key role in state-wide surveillance, monitoring and reporting for public health, within both Queensland and Federal Governments.
