About the Role

  • Foster a culture of interprofessional collaboration and leadership through understanding the role and the roles of others in the interprofessional team leveraging this knowledge to establish and meet client goals and inform service direction.
  • Single point accountability for the services within the medical services portfolio.
  • Management of direct report staff including Deputy Executive Director of Medical Services; Director, Medical Education Unit, Manager, Patient Safety & Quality Unit, Director, Queensland Tissue Bank and Statewide Medical Director, Organ and Tissue Donation Service (DonateLife).
  • Provide strategic leadership and advice to the Executive Director PAH on medical workforce matters, contributing to decision making in the achievement of the PAH Operational Plan and MSHHS strategic plan.
  • Provide authoritative, critical and strategic advice to the Executive Director PAH regarding strategies for continuous improvement in the delivery of clinical systems.
  • Provide executive level medical support in the strategic oversight and leadership of the PAH clinical governance function, including quality, credentialing, accreditation, Medico-Legal, incident management and patient safety programs.
  • Deliver high-level expert advice to the Executive Director PAH and the ELT on all medical workforce matters, professional development, professional competency, planning and strategy for the PAH designed to advance quality, safety, governance and risk in health service delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with the PAH ELT to contribute to leading PAH business continuity, emergency and disaster management systems and processes to deliver organisational resilience and emergency/disaster preparedness related to clinical events.
