What's involved –The Clinical Nurse Consultant is responsible for clinical (including first responder services), resource management, education and research accountabilities within acute and residential care services ensuring the provision of best practice and quality patient care.  This role provides leadership and direction for the nursing staff of Alpha Multipurpose Health Service (MPHS) and is responsible for implementing plans related to safe, consumer focused clinical care, professional development of staff and financial accountability.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a flexible roster which may include 12 hour shifts.
  • Capability and capacity to act in the Director of Nursing (DON) position as required.
  • Mandatory: Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse (RN). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of employment.
  • Highly desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate or master's qualification or evidence of enrolment in professional development programs or intention to/working towards a qualification) in clinical training, workplace training, or advanced clinical practice (e.g. Emergency/Critical Care, RIPRN, Aged Care/continuum of care) is highly desirable and would be well regarded.
  • Completed or ability to complete Advance Life Support and Paediatric Advanced Life Support.
