The role
We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Director to join the reform office to shape and drive long term strategy and reform directions for the Department of Health. Reporting to the Executive Director, Reform Office you will lead the development and implementation of the health reform framework. You will identify the departmental changes required for future success and engage in activities that influence positive change. Additionally as the Senior Director, you will lead, design and direct the delivery of substantial and diverse portfolio. You will set the direction of portfolio investment practices, data-driven research, evaluation and analysis, and cultural change insight and advice to ensure delivery of the Departments strategic reform agenda. This role has 5 direct and 10 indirect reports.

The successful person
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated high-level leadership and management skills, with experience in mentoring multi-skilled teams. Strong negotiation, consultation and communication abilities are essential. The role requires a team player capable of building effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. Your key responsibilities include, driving communication and engagement, facilitating cultural and organisational reforms, and representing the department in various forums. Additionally, you will have demonstrated experience in delivering complex portfolios and projects along with certified qualifications such as Certified practicing portfolio, Managing successful programs, and Project Management (Prince2).

About Strategy, Policy & Reform Division
Strategy, Policy and Reform Division (SPRD) is in the Department of Health and is responsible for driving the strategic agenda for public health in Queensland. SPRD works closely with other Queensland government agencies and cross-jurisdictional colleagues, including at the Commonwealth level.

Key strategic functions are brought together under SPRD that develop policies and legislation to guide and protect the health of the community, design communication activities, campaigns and strategies to engage and empower Queenslanders to improve their health, lead and manage Queensland Health's system sustainability reform, including through funding strategy and lead special projects of critical importance.
