About us:

We're committed to improving the health and wellbeing of people in Far North Queensland by providing high quality acute health care services. The person is expected to demonstrate an advanced level of autonomous clinical and professional practice and decision making in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and be an active member of one or more CHHHS National Safety and Quality Health Service Standard committee(s). The role will directly report to the Director of Clinical Governance; and will work as an integral member of the Patient Safety Quality Unit and in partnership with a designated Service Group Management team.

About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate evidence of applied knowledge and skills of clinical governance systems, safety, and human factors science, and the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards second edition and Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Demonstrate evidence of effective engagement, collaboration and change management with all levels of the workforce to achieve improved outcomes in a clinical environment.
  • Demonstrate high level verbal and analytical writing skills with demonstrated ability to undertake data analysis and produce presentations and reports.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will deliver expert clinical leadership, facilitation and reporting to ensure the use of contemporary clinical governance systems within a dedicated and dynamic clinical directorate within CHHHS.

About your role:

  • Facilitate relevant service group / speciality team training about patient safety and quality and provide advice to improve the safety culture, processes, outcomes and experiences through ongoing engagement with clinicians.
  • Promote the use and understanding of clinical audit and indicators to minimise unjustified variation in care, promote low-cost high value care, and inform and measure quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with other Patient Safety and Quality Unit team members to develop, implement, and monitor safety and quality systems, including action plans for improvement.
