The role  
Reporting to the Chief Allied Health Officer, Clinical Excellence Division, you will utilise your advanced leadership and project management skills to oversee priority pharmacy projects and government election commitments, including the Queensland Community Pharmacy Pilots. These projects aim to increase access to high-quality primary health services for communities across Queensland and are the first of their kind in Australia.  

Leading a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality project activities and milestones, working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve project priorities. Your responsibilities also include providing expert policy advice on priority pharmacy projects, developing complex briefings and submissions to present recommendations to senior leaders, managing the project team's response to complex and sensitive issues. 

The successful person
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate highly developed communication, influencing, policy analysis, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to negotiate and assert yourself while building productive and positive partnerships. You will have significant experience in policy coordination and project delivery within a large, complex environment, including the ability to analyse and integrate information from multiple sources and respond to changing expectations and deliverables. 

Additionally, you must exhibit strong leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, promoting a positive work environment and the importance of delivering outcomes across the health sector.  

Lastly, you will be skilled at navigating change and complexity within a government environment, with demonstrated high-level abilities to problem-solve and provide practical solutions to complex issues and situations.

The role of the Clinical Excellence Queensland (CEQ) is to drive the patient safety, quality improvement and clinical improvement agendas for the Queensland health system. It will achieve this by identifying, monitoring, and promoting improvements in the quality of health services delivered by service providers (both Hospital and Health Services and private health facilities, globally and within Queensland), and support and facilitate the dissemination of best-practice clinical standards and processes that achieve better outcomes for patients. The quality improvement agenda is actively supported by a significant research agenda. The Division is also accountable for setting and supporting the direction for mental health, alcohol, and other drug services in Queensland, as well monitoring and reporting on performance.
