About the role

Permanent full time and part time opportunity to provide an advanced level of care based on demonstrated continuing education, experience and competence, and demonstration of requisite leadership skills within Medical Ward 4D as a member of the interprofessional team. Demonstrated advanced practice is specific to the context in which the ENAS which works and is based on the complexity of the service required and the necessity to provide that service. The ENAS demonstrates a greater depth of knowledge and experience, and more effective integration of theory and practice than the Enrolled Nurse (Grade 3).

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Support an evidence-based learning environment and participate in learning activities/opportunities for self and others
  • Contribute to nursing/midwifery assessment and care of individuals and groups by practicing within ENAS scope of practice, implementing aspects of the care plan including consumer/person risk assessment as delegated by the registered nurse, and by assisting in providing information during clinical bedside handover that contributes to evaluation of progress towards expected consumer/person outcomes.
  • Undertake unit activities other than direct consumer/person centred care such as advance skill portfolio/s and/or participate on committees.
  • Utilise communication processes and systems which enhance consumer/person care delivery and unit functioning.
  • Recognise and respond appropriately and report sudden alterations in the consumer/person's condition and workload changes in a timely manner to the registered nurse.
