The Minor Illness and Injury Clinic (MIIC) based at Caloundra Health Service (CHS) is a valuable and highly utilised primary health clinic, offering acute care options to low acuity illness and injury type presentations. The model within MIIC enables the community to gain immediate access to care and ongoing collaborative health management by ensuring the patients journey is managed in the appropriate setting at the appropriate time. To provide the high level and expert care that MIIC is committed to, we aim to:

  • Provide quality urgent, same day healthcare services for minor injuries and illnesses for the community.
  • Provide person-centred, efficient patient care underpinned by evidence-based practices.
  • Support local primary care services to meet the demands of the community.
  • Work in conjunction with SCHHS Emergency Departments to ensure the community receives appropriate care in the appropriate service facility.
  • Empower patients on their personal health journey.
  • Deliver services that complement local primary care resources and recognise the value of a patient's continued relationship with General Practice

Your key responsibilities:

  • Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
  • High level expertise, knowledge, and experience in acute/urgent primary health care
  • Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, occupational health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.

Remuneration value up to $177,797 p.a., comprising salary between $149,259 - $155,831 p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $75.27 - $78.59 p.h. (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 8) (Multiple permanent positions available, hours to be discussed).
