About your opportunity:

Fixed term temporary full-time / 6 months / Location: Townsville

The Registrar or Principal House Officer (Cardiology) will provide high quality, evidenced based care to Cardiology patients of the Townsville University Hospital.  Provide supervision of junior medical staff including inpatient care and responsibility for teaching junior medical staff, medical students, nursing and allied health staff.

  • Generous remuneration package value up to $15,799 p.m. comprising:
  • Salary range of $4822.20 to $5591.00 p.f. (L4-L9)
  • 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Degree Qualifications from a recognised tertiary institution and hold Current Registration as a medical practitioner or eligible for Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Successful completion of at least two years post registration training.
  • Accepted into recognised vocational college training program relevant to speciality.
  • If appointee is not accepted into a recognized vocational college training program – employment will only be as a Principal House Officer and remuneration will be at PHO Level per fortnight – (L4-L7).
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
