Main duties of the job

Are you an experienced pharmacist with a passion for developing others?
We're looking for a motivated individual to manage our team of Foundation Pharmacists, the on-call service and support the pharmacist service to the dispensaries both at Southampton General Hospital and at our sister site, the Royal South Hants (RSH) hospital.
You'll need to be compassionate, organised, flexible and a great communicator.
We currently have fourteen pharmacists on the Foundation Rotation, which rotates every 6-12 weeks. In August 24, we will be adding an additional ten pharmacists to this rotation, with the expectation that recruitment will not need to be repeated during the next year. Your role will be to co-ordinate the rota, line manage these individuals, provide pastoral care and support, and respond to any issues which may arise in the rotations. Each pharmacist is assigned a mentor who will be a first point of contact.
You will also be responsible for the on-call service for UHS. The on-call pharmacists are mostly Foundation Pharmacists and they provide a telephone-based service from home overnight, only coming on site if necessary.
The dispensaries are staffed by Foundation Pharmacists on a rotational basis. You will be expected to support their training in these rotations and provide assistance and cross-cover when required. The RSH has a lead pharmacist on site who can provide support and supervision in your absence.
