The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Pharmacist – Senior to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Independently apply professional knowledge and skills to deliver high level clinical pharmacy services
  • Deliver high level clinical review services as part of a multidisciplinary team in developing pharmaceutical care plans and monitoring patient outcomes
  • Apply sound professional judgement to complex caseloads, exercising independent decisions
  • Resolve complex issues utilising evidence based medicine and highly developed clinical knowledge
  • Prepare, facilitate and engage with GCHHS stakeholder for the delivery of automated dispensing cabinets (ADC) education and training in their use, troubleshooting and maintenance as required

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Tertiary degree in Pharmacy
  • A relevant post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy will be well regarded
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Availability to participate in on-call duties and work all shifts
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $124 435 - $133 901 per annum

The Pharmacy Service provides medication management services across the Gold Coast HHS, through inpatient units, outpatient clinics and in all facilities where medicines are being utilised for the care of patients. This includes Gold Coast University and Robina Hospitals, the Southport and Robina Health Precincts, Numinbah Correctional Centre as well as various community services.
