About the role

  • Demonstrate accountability for progressing innovation and sustainability priorities and initiatives in consultation with the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer and Metro North Health Nursing and Midwifery Directors of Nursing and Midwifery Management Group (DONMMG). This role works collaboratively with the CNMO Metro North Health in the achievement of strategic nursing/midwifery leadership, innovation, sustainability and excellence for the Nursing and Midwifery workforce through contemporary evidenced-based standards, effective change management and leading edge practice in line with Metro North Health Nursing and Midwifery Professional Stream strategic direction.
  • Demonstrate accountability for strategic leadership for progressing the implementation of new, evolving and innovative practices and professional alignment of positions to meet service delivery and models of care.
  • Practice in co-operative partnership with other members of the Metro North Health Office of Nursing and Midwifery Service (ONMS) team, other members of other relevant departments in Metro North Health and professional nursing and midwifery leaders internally and externally.
  • Collaborate on professional strategic directions, imperatives, and actions to foster professional principles, governance, and growth in relation to strategic direction and evolving models of care.
  • Lead initiatives and collaborate across the Metro North Health ONMS team to achieve the successful outcomes of Metro North Health CNMO work programmes.
  • Contribute to the development of parameters and metrics to measure the quality of nursing and practice and practice as it pertains to model of care development, strategic direction and working alongside other positions within Metro North Health Nursing and Midwifery to ensure nurses and midwives can practice to top of scope, utilising contemporary models of service delivery and strategy.
