Job Description:
We are seeking a full-time family physician that able to fulfil descriptive duties of general practitioner in a community primary care clinic of Crescent Heights, which is located in North East area of Calgary close to downtown vibe. duties such as:
-Examine patients and take their histories, order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures and consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
-Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
-Provide acute care management
-Advise patients and their families on health care including health promotion, disease, illness and accident prevention
-Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
-Perform patient advocacy role
-Coordinate or manage primary patient care
-Provide continuous care to patients
The successful applicant will be expected to work a minimum of five days a week, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays.
Responsibilities include managing a patients panel as a family doctor and attending for walk-in patients. The applicant would be a part of Primary Care Network and work towards Patient's Medical Home model. Physicians in our clinic work as a team and they would cover the responsibilities of their colleagues during their absences; such as vacation, emergency and sick time.
Due to physician shortage and increase number of unattached patients, building new practice with decent panel of patient wouldn't be hard.
We seek candidates with good interpersonal skills who demonstrate commitment to teamwork and appreciate peer relationships.
Preference will be given to those with eligibility letters from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and those who have completed the TDM exams.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must:
Be registered or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Have recent experience in the specified role.
Possess excellent clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
Participate in and contribute to quality improvement activities and maintain continuous medical education.

Our clinic is part of Mosaic primary care net work which cover large number of population of north east area with a wide spectrum of services and support programs that is considered essential to the patient's needs in that demography.
