The Medical Imaging team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Chief Radiographer to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

  • To provide high level leadership, strategic direction and advocacy in the management of Medical Imaging Department at the Mackay Base Hospital.
  • To provide high quality, efficient and effective diagnostic imaging in accordance with established hospital and departmental policy and procedures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Radiation Health policies and procedures, including National and state-wide legislative requirements in the capacity of Radiation Safety Officer at Mackay Base Hospital.
  • Apply high level clinical knowledge to challenge existing protocols and advocating authoritatively for Medical Imaging on a District and State-wide basis in the development of new policy including changed practice.

About the Team

Our Medical Imaging Department delivers a range of services including, General Radiography (CR) and (DR), Computed Tomography (CT) (Dual Source), Ultrasound, Theatre II, Interventional Fluoroscopy, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
