About the role

Permanent full time opportunity.

The position provides advanced clinical psychology knowledge and skills to deliver specialist contemporary, evidence based psychological assessment and therapy services, and leadership as a member of the as a member of an integrated, multidisciplinary mental health team for people with persistent and disabling symptoms of mental illness, their carer givers, and relevant stakeholders with a focus on planning and provision of clinical care and therapeutic interventions within a recovery and trauma informed framework.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Apply advanced level advocacy within the healthcare system including facilitating linkages with key agencies to address consumer needs and ensure equity in access to services.
  • Provide definitive clinical advice and professional advocacy to senior management with respect to issues affecting clinical service delivery and the delivery of psychology services within the health service.
  • Provide clinical practice supervision and education to Psychology students, other Psychologists and clinical support to staff to ensure maintenance of professional clinical standards within the service.
  • Maintain professional accountabilities through active engagement in continuing professional education and clinical supervision to develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise and to maintain relevant credentialing requirements as defined by Metro North Mental Health Allied Health Services. This includes participation in service area and Psychology meetings and data collection requirements.
  • Apply independent, advanced level professional judgement and problem solving skills to assist consumers with complex needs across PRCMHS, with minimal direct clinical practice supervision.
