About the role

Permanent full time and part time opportunities to provide nursing care at an advanced scope of clinical practice including expanded skills and knowledge in assessment, care planning and implementation, diagnoses, and evaluation of nursing care for a cohort of consumer/patients in the specialty area of Paediatric Emergency for the Caboolture Emergency Department. This role works collaboratively with the interprofessional team and contributes to enhanced consumer/patient outcomes by actively leading and supporting existing and emerging nurse-led models of care whilst maintaining flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the health service and consumer populations.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Demonstrate autonomy, accountability and competence for expanded practice in providing client-focused care within a nursing model including advanced health assessment of consumer's/patient's clinical condition, development, and implementation of appropriately documented management plan.
  • Provide advanced clinical support and leadership through evidence-based practice and professional development, service planning and delivery, and quality initiatives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to promote, undertake and support research activities to support improved client care and best practice.
  • Active participation in continuing education and performance and development planning activities.
  • Maintain effective interpersonal and communication skills with interprofessional colleagues and extended community health providers as necessary in the course of consumer/patient management and provide specialist consultation and liaison within the scope of the position.
