The opportunity
Deliver high level physiotherapy clinical services and clinical leadership across acute services at the Townsville University Hospital. The position is integral to maintaining high standards of physiotherapy practice and contributing to the development of acute care medical and surgical physiotherapy to optimise patient flow and experience. The position also acts as a resource person in acute physiotherapy for staff, service managers and health care consumers of Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

Physiotherapy Department
The Townsville University Hospital Physiotherapy Department sits within the Allied Health Services Division and is directed by a physiotherapist. Services are provided across the continuum of care to all appropriate patient groups across inpatient, outpatient and domiciliary settings. The department provides a twenty four hour service through an on-call and weekend roster. Physiotherapists routinely work in intensive care, medical/surgical acute, musculoskeletal, rehabilitation, oncology, rural facilities, women's and children's areas, and community health. Junior staff members have the opportunity to rotate and gain experience in a variety of clinical areas and current structural arrangements offer excellent clinical support.
