About the role

The purpose of this role is to contribute to patient care by providing clinical support tasks to increase patient nutrition, cognitive stimulation, mobility and functional independence, as delegated under the direct or indirect supervision of health professionals participating in the Eat Walk Engage (EWE) program at the Prince Charles Hospital. The EWE program is a multi- professional approach to prevention of delirium and early restorative care in older patients.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team (including operational managers and professional supervisors) with a good understanding of own scope of practice in a complex and demanding work environment.
  • Ability to work empathetically and respectfully with older patients, including those with functional and cognitive disability, and their carers.
  • Ability to implement a defined range of clinical assessments and treatments as prescribed and delegated by the multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in successfully and positively working under the direction and supervision of a senior staff
  • Knowledge and ability to support quality improvement
