About your opportunity

Permanent part-time, 38 hours per fortnight

Provide expert midwifery leadership, advice, support and education, within the multidisciplinary team of the Townsville HHS, in relation to education initiatives and programs based on adult education and contemporary educational strategies.

This role is to support midwifery practice through the delivery of midwifery education within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service (HHS) for midwives, midwifery students and nurses.

Generous remuneration package value up to $82,348 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range of $66.85 to $72.58 p.h. (Nurse Grade 7)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Midwifery/Diploma of Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position.
  • Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Highly Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications relevant to the position or working towards a relevant qualification.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
  • Demonstrates clinical skills in intravenous cannulation, water immersion in labour and waterbirth, perineal suturing and speculum examination. If not competent in these skills must be willing to undertake the necessary training within six months of commencement.
  • The applicant ideally will have a working knowledge of a range of software packages used in the clinical and management environment, including the Microsoft Windows, Excel, Access, Matrix and Power Point.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
