The role  
The Director, Infrastructure Planning and Delivery has a leadership role with HCD and will be accountable for the successful planning and delivery of capital projects/programs they are assigned. The Director, Infrastructure Planning and Delivery will be required to lead HCD teams (Project Directors, Project Managers and Projects Officers), providing clear direction in navigating through complex / substantial risk projects to drive quality infrastructure outcomes in partnership with Hospital and Health Services.

Responsibilities include: 
•    Provide leadership to Senior Project Directors, Project Directors, and Project Officers to drive quality infrastructure planning and delivery project outcomes through the planning and delivery of complex or high-risk projects in line with Queensland Health approved project management methodologies.
•    Lead staff in managing the engagement of project consultants and contractors to enable the planning and delivery of an on time, on budget quality project.
•    Take a leadership role in ensuring the quality of project management activities undertaken by the team, in line with the Queensland Health project management methodology (project lifecycle), including overseeing the development of project scoping, formal project plans, budgets, supporting documentation, records, and registers.
•    Establish and maintain professional relationships with other relevant Government agencies, and with external organisations, to ensure the infrastructure planning and delivery needs are realised.

The successful person
You will have demonstrated: 
•    High level knowledge of project and program management methodologies in addition to extensive high-level experience and successful performance in planning, leading, managing, and delivering medium to large scale complex or high-risk projects within a health infrastructure service delivery environment (or similar).
•    High level ability with proven success to lead and manage consultants, contractors and multi-disciplinary project teams.
•    Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills at a senior executive level within and external to the organisation, including demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and other industry partners to achieve required outcomes.
•    Highly developed research, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
