About you:

You are an administration professional with demonstrated knowledge or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of Queensland Health systems, policies, procedures, and legislative frameworks with respect to finance and revenue, sound communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and sensitively with all levels of staff, patients, and the public. You have demonstrated ability to establish work priorities and set realistic goals, meet deadlines, work efficiently and effectively, autonomously and as part of a team and possess effective consultative skills including written and oral communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills appropriate to an environment of change and evolution, incorporating the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff, and the ability to present quality material.

Your opportunity: 

To provide additional resources to Day Surgery Unit, Surgical Wards and Specialist Outpatient Department Clinics and expedite collection of patient data and assist in completion of appropriate documentation.

Your role: 

  • Provide assistance with private billing practices to Directorate staff.
  • Monitor and review HBCIS and ieMR data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work with the Divisional Business Manager to ensure that inpatients/outpatient billing processes are completed. These include but are not limited to:
  • Using Chai, identify Own Source Revenue in the Specialised Outpatient Department.
  • Identify all bulk billable patients in the Special Outpatient Department, generate billing forms, invoice and release claims using Medirecords.
  • Collection of outpatient invoice request forms, liaising with accounts receivable, review HBCIS and ieMR for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure that a client-focused service is provided, including the delivery of accurate and timely advice and information as requested.
