About the role

This position is responsible for the provision of specialist medical services to the highest practical standards to patients in the Residential Aged Care Support Service and Geriatric Emergency Department Intervention as well as participating in an on call roster.

The successful applicant will provide clinical care to patients and clinically manage, on a day-to-day basis, the associated multidisciplinary patient care team to ensure the provision of appropriate patient care. Provide professional leadership within a specialist medical area and provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

• Demonstrated interpersonal skills which allow effective communication in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety and quality assurance initiatives, as well as the ability to conduct audits and data analysis of key outcome measures.
• Experience in relevant areas of inpatient and outpatient care.
• A sound knowledge of contemporary Human Resource issues including time management, Workplace Health & Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, Anti-discrimination and Code of Conduct.
• A strong interest in the care of, and advocacy for the elderly patient

Mandatory Requirements:

• Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
