About your opportunity:

Fixed term temporary part-time / 60.8 hours per fortnight, five months / Location: Kirwan Health Campus, Townsville

The Occupational Therapist will deliver base level of occupational therapy clinical services within a community based, transdisciplinary, paediatric, allied health service.  The role provides integrated and holistic assessment and management of children with complex needs and supports onward referral to early intervention services where indicated.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: 

  • Deliver base level clinicalservices (which includes assessment, analysis, health specific intervention, and case management) for children with complex development delays.
  • Work co-operatively and effectively in a transdisciplinary, community based paediatric allied health team.
  • Undertake your practice within a family partnership framework.
  • Support the clinical supervision of students at Child Development Service.
  • Actively participate in service planning and development within the Child Development Service.

  • Generous remuneration package value up to $8,848 p.m. comprising:
  • Salary range of $38.70 to $58.67 p.h. (HP3)
  • 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proof of qualification (Occupational Therapy) and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association (AHPRA).
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
