About the role

  • Permanent full time or part time opportunities to provide a primary contact, after hours, seven-day a week Physiotherapy service to the Emergency Department (ED) Caboolture Hospital, the Minor Injury and Illness clinics within the Caboolture and Bribie Island Satellite Hospitals, utilising advanced level physiotherapy clinical knowledge and skills and evidence-based practice.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide primary ‘first contact' specialised musculoskeletal Physiotherapy services including extended Scope of Practice activities such as requests and interpretation of diagnostics for the independent diagnosis, management, and discharge of clients presenting to the Emergency Department and Minor Injury and Illness clinics.
  • Lead the development of the scope of Physiotherapy activities as appropriate and relevant to the role and to the ED/MIIC environment. These activities may include, but are not limited to referral for investigations, limited prescribing, simple fracture management, and plaster/splint application
  • Utilise advanced level of clinical knowledge, skills and critical reasoning based on high level clinical evidence and professional development to facilitate novel solutions to highly complex and varied clinical problems across the continuum of care.
