The Position
Acute Paediatric Registrar, Full-time, fixed contract for 12 months. Deliver comprehensive inpatient care to patients in the general paediatric wards and neonatal intensive care unit.

Pay
  • Senior Registrar SREG1 - SREG2 - Remuneration Package $188,118 - $205,492 (including salary $161,764 - $176,838)

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide both routine and emergency after-hours care on a rotating roster.
  • Conduct general paediatric outpatient clinics.
  • Participate in specialist paediatric outreach services to regional hospitals and remote communities.
  • Supervise, support, and evaluate junior staff in their inpatient care duties.
  • Engage in continuous medical education, professional development, peer review, research, teaching, quality improvement activities, and clinical audits as appropriate.

The Facility
This tertiary and level 3 teaching hospital, with nearly 400 beds and approximately 1,700 staff members, serves a population of 200,000. Its catchment area encompasses urban communities, regional hospitals, and remote Aboriginal communities. Affiliated with Flinders University and hosting an onsite medical school, the hospital is ACEM accredited as a major referral centre, offering two years of advanced emergency training.

The Requirements
  • Eligible for general registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A minimum of 3 years paediatric experience incorporating inpatient and outpatient care.
  • A minimum of 6 months experience in a neonatal intensive care unit.
